Song

Hello, how are you? May you always be healthy. Wow, finally I can blog again. To be honest, I used to be. But now it's rare. Here I will explain about song.

✓Definition :

Song is an artistic composition of tones or sounds in sequence, combination, and temporal relationship to produce a musical composition that has unity and continuity. And a variety of rhythmic tones or sounds are also called songs. Songs can be sung solo, two, three or in groups.

✓ Generic structure of song :

Intro, the first part of the song where the singer's voice has not been heard, only the instrument.

Verse or stanza, introductory part to the chorus

Bridge, used to bridge between parts of the song. Like between a chorus with a verse or a chorus with a modulating chorus. The notes played on the bridge are generally very different from the verse and chorus.

Chorus, the main message or story of the song. Using a different tone pattern and more comfortable than the verse. Chorus or chorus is almost the same as chorus. Chorus is usually simpler than Chorus. Reff means repetition.

Coda is the final part of the song with the tone and verse to close the song. In contrast to brigde, coda takes some pre-existing lyrics and notes. The structure is not rigid, so not all songs have such a structured structure. But every song in general must have a verse, chorus, and bridge.

✓ Language features of song

Imagery (simile or imagination)

Describes about feelings and emotions, meaning that a song usually tries to describe the feelings that the writer feels.

Rhythm (rhythm)

Rhythm here is used to create the mood. For example, if we are sad and listen to a song with a slow rhythm, we will get carried away with the song. So, rhythm creates mood!

Figures of speech

Some figurative words used in a song for example:

Metaphor (metaphor)

At first glance, the two things being compared are unrelated, but actually there are similarities between the two things, for example: Time is a thief (time is a thief) or Her hair was silk (his hair is like silk).

Simile (figuratively)

A thing is described with something similar using the word 'like' or 'as', for example: My love is like a red rose.

hyperbole (hyperbole)

A thing is described in excess, sometimes tickling because it is too much. For example:

Personification (personification)

An object appears like a person, meaning that the object (not human) has the ability like a human. Such as: The wind whisper or The snowflakes danced in the wind.

 Alliteration (alliteration)

The repetition of the sound at the beginning of each word. For example: Peter Parker picks a pack of pants punctually (Peter Parker changes his suit on time).
